Schuber/Liszt Serenade for Smaller Hands - two editions in one

$24.00

Liszt’s transcription of Schubert’s ionic Serenade transcribed for smaller hands. This volume has all the same scholarly material as my standard blue edition, with the music fitted to smaller hands. While this piece may not sound difficult in the listening, it does have some inherent difficulties in the triplets, particularly when using rubato, and the echo section also has its difficulties. However, the even greater challenge for smaller hands is the hand span required to play the standard editions. It requires one to be able to play tenths. This version helps those with smaller hands to negotiate the tenths (and octaves) in some cases, and it shortens them (and some octaves) in other cases. The success of this endeavor is proven by its surprising closeness to the original in performance.
